How did you get interested in conservation?
I grew up surfing and exploring at San Onofre State Beach. I’ve always been excited about science, and seeing wildlife at the beach struck a chord with me at an early age. I grew up wanting to be a biologist so I could learn more about the places and critters I loved.
If you could have one incredible animal adaptation, what would it be?
It’s fun to think about hibernation. It would be great to sleep through the dark days of winter, and wake for the fun and sun of summer.
