Coast Guard Cutter Forward conducts Africa Partnership Station (APS) initiative

DAKAR, Senegal--The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Forward pulls away from the pier after a two-day visit to Dakar, Senegal June 14, 2011.
The Forward will be the primary operational platform for the Africa Partnership Station (APS) initiative in West Africa, and will focus on operating side-by-side with regional maritime services in order to stop and deter illicit transnational maritime activity by conducting these operations with African navies.
