Coast Guard Cutter Barque Eagle in Parade of Ships
Summary
The Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, also known as "America's Tall Ship", participated in the Parade of Sails with approximately 30 other tall ships and other attraction vessels July 3 during the Tall Ships Tacoma 2008 event along Foss Waterway in Tacoma, Wash. The Eagle's crew has spent this summer training more than 130 Coast Guard Academy cadets and Naval Academy midshipmen. The Eagle has served as a floating classroom to future Coast Guard officers since 1946 offering fundamental leadership, teamwork and seamanship skills.
