ATLANTIC OCEAN - Petty Officer 2nd Class Thomas Burkell, a damage controlman, instructs Coast Guard Academy 3rd class cadets on shipboard fire fighting, Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Cadets were instructed to wear their flash hoods backwards to simulate low visibility when fighting a fire. Eagle officers and crew instructed the 3rd class cadets on damage control and seamanship during the all-day event, Square Rigger Olympics.
