Carlsruhe Painter - Shoulder Lekythos with Satyr and Wine Skin - Walters 48259 - Side A
Summary
This red-figure shoulder lekythos depicts a Silenus. Wreathed, he faces right holding out a wineskin in his left hand and a drinking horn in his right. The position of his feet, left leg out straight, right bent under, suggests either that he has just halted his forward progress, or he is dancing.
