description

Summary

Portrait of Camilla Martelli (1545-1590), the second wife of Cosimo I de' Medici, formerly identified as Eleanor of Toledo (1522-1562), the first wife.

Alessandro Allori (1535-1607) was an Italian painter from Florence, known for his portraits and religious paintings. He was the son of the painter Agnolo di Cosimo, also known as Bronzino, and was trained in his father's workshop. Allori's style was influenced by the Mannerist movement, characterized by exaggerated poses and elongated figures. He was a favorite painter of the Medici family, and many of his works can be found in their collections. Some of his most famous works include "The Dead Christ Mourned by Two Angels" and "Portrait of Bianca Cappello".
