British Army Medical Services in Italy, 1944
A patient wounded in the leg is given a blood transfusion at a Field Transfusion Unit before being taken to the Operating Theatre of an Advanced Dressing Station. A blood pressure reading is being taken to monitor progress during the transfusion. One of a series showing the procedure when a casualty leaves the Regimental Aid Post. Field Transfusion Units working in conjunction with Advanced Dressing Stations saved many lives.
