But if we wish to see the bestcampanile in Venice, I think we must go back to the Itialto,and there, not far from the Grrand Canal, we shall see in tliatof San Griacomo a perfectly fine example/ It is almost en-tirely of brick, and the fine long lines of its arcades give agreat effect of height, whilst the details are all good andquite Gothic in their character.
