Summary
Yousuf Karsh (1908–2002) Armenian Canadian photographer known for his portraits of important and famous men and women of politics, Hollywood, and the arts, from Albert Einstein and Sir Winston Churchill to Walt Disney and Grace Kelly. As an Armenian in what is now Turkey, Karsh endured persecution and deprivation. In 1922 he fled on foot with his family to Aleppo, Syria.
