US COAST GUARD BARQUE EAGLE, New London Connecticut
Summary
BALTIMORE, Md. (Dec. 21)-- The Coast Guard Barque EAGLE, the only square-rigger in U.S. government service, is cradled on Coast Guard Yard Baltimore's shiplift, a state-of-the-art elevator platform used to lift ships out of the water. The EAGLE will undergo a renewal of the auxiliary propulsion shaft and propeller, fixed ballast upgrades, new paint coating systems and new mast riggings before returning to its homeport at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.
