Summary
Watercolor over black lead, touched with bodycolor and gold, 295 x 204 mm. Inscribed in brown ink, modernized: 'The Tombs of their Cherounes or chief personages, their flesh clean taken off from the bones save the skin and hair of their heads, which flesh is dried and enfolded in mats laid at their feet. Their bones also being made dry, are covered with deer skins not altering their form or proportion. With their Kywash, which is an image of wood keeping the dead.' 1906,0509.1.9
