A Sailor fires a shot line., operation Enduring Freedom

GULF OF ADEN (Jul. 04, 2012) Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Steffan Alexander fires a shot line from the guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94) to the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Laramie (T-AO 203) during a replenishment at sea. Nitze is deployed as part of the Enterprise Carrier Strike Group to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Laramie is assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 53 providing fuel and supplies to U.S. Navy and coalition ships in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
