Iam sure you will like the house \ it is a real Orientalhouse such as the Rajahs and Nawabs live in butquite unlike the houses of natives in general which aregenerally enclosed by high walls. Busy Days water-carrier with his great leather bag. All thewater that we use is brought in this goatskin bag.How would you like to drink water from it ? I wasquite disgusted at first but do not stop to think aboutit now. Miss Sparkes and I occupy the upper part of thehouse and at present I am using one of the rooms as adispensary. Some of our native helpers live in thebasement rooms which are verv comfortable. Now that our dispensary building is actually underwav I feel quite content to put up with inconve-niences for I have the assurance of better things in thefuture. The Rev. Air. Judd is overseeing the work-men and as he is a good manager the work is goingon well. There is quite a little army of men, womenand children, all verv busy, in their own estimation,though I can see from mv window that now and thensome of them linger over their loads or sit down be-hind a pile of boards to take a whiff from the huqqa.They call their ^^^-smoking taking a drink fromthe pipe.
