Det var et offentlig opprettet organ for å fremme reisetrafikken i Norge. Landslaget drev reiselivsreklame i utlandet og i Norge, og utga en rekke brosjyrer og publikasjoner. De hadde et stort bildearkiv som ble brukt i promoteringen av Norge som ferieland.

The photo is one of several photos showing scenery and atmosphere in the archive of Landslaget for reiselivet i Norge (the Norwegian Tourism Association).
The Norwegian Tourism Association was founded in 1903. It was a public body created to promote travelling in Norway. The association advertised abroad and in Norway, and published a series of brochures and publications. They had a large photo archive that was used in the promotion of Norway as a holiday destination.
