190521-N-DS741-0078 ARABIAN SEA (May 21, 2019) Fire Controlman (Aegis) 3rd Class Alberto Cuellar, from Fremont, Calif., assigned to the combat systems department aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55), uses a pressurized air hose for ship preservation. Leyte Gulf is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet areas of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
