Summary

170720-N-RU971-186 CORAL SEA (July 20, 2017) Master Chief Quartermaster James Fox, from Moyock, N.C., explains the concept of celestial navigation to Royal Australian Navy Sailors from the amphibious assault ship HMAS Canberra (L02) on vulture’s row aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), as part of a crew exchange ship tour during Talisman Saber 17. While aboard, the Australian Sailors had the opportunity to learn about U.S. amphibious operations at sea, building on long-standing alliances between the two Navies. Talisman Saber is a biennial U.S.-Australian bilateral exercise held off the coast of Australia meant to achieve interoperability and strengthen the U.S.-Australian alliance.
