160309-N-RU971-010 PACIFIC OCEAN (March 9, 2016) – Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Kevin Cooper, from Maryville, Tenn., logs the rotations per minute, or RPM, of the shaft in the aft machinery room while standing an under instruction throttle-man watch aboard amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). Bonhomme Richard is the flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group and is participating in Ssang Yong 2016, designed to strengthen interoperability and working relationships across a wide range of military operations from disaster relief to complex expeditionary operations.
