Der stellvertretende Verteidigungsminister Robert Work war Ehrengast der Parade in der Marinekaserne Washington, D.C., und General John M. Paxton, der 33. stellvertretende Kommandant des Marinekorps, war der Gastgeber. Die Sommertradition der Abendparade begann 1934 und umfasst den Silent Drill Platoon, die U.S. Marine Band, das U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps und zwei Marschkompanien.
