U.S. Army Corps of Engineers NEPA Compliance Manager

description

Summary

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers NEPA Compliance Manager Michael Saucier looks inside a damaged boat that is waiting processing as part of the Marine Vessel Transition program at the Port of Ponce on February 20, 2018.

The Marine Vessel Transition program is part of the Debris Removal mission FEMA assigned USACE to assist the U.S. Coast Guard’s ESF #10 mission. Over 100 sunken vessels have been identified around the island of Puerto Rico. The USCG with a crane barge will lift these vessels out of the water where the EPA will then remove any hazardous material. The USCG will then barge the vessels over to a piece of property that is leased by USACE.
