Pennsylvania Avenue National Historic Site

A US Air Force (USAF) EC-130E Command Solo aircraft Number 63-7828 from the 193rd Special Operations Wing (SOW), Pennsylvania Air National Guard (ANG) is marshaled on the flight line at Middletown, Pennsylvania (PA). The Command Solo aircraft is being decommissioned after having acquired the highest number of flying hours in the fleet and will surpass 28,000 flying hours on its final flight. The 193rd SOW will transition to the new EC-130J Command Solo II aircraft. The aircraft bears the signature of many of its former and present crew chiefs in honor of its retirement

Tändsticksetikett från Mönsterås Tändsticksfabrik, "Three Stars Trade Mark Tändstickor"Mönsterås har haft två tändsticksfabriker. Den första var Rosendahlsfabriken som anlades 1869 av apotekare Götvid Frykman (1811-1876). Frykman bodde i Kalmar och innehade apoteket i Borgholm 1842-1864. Fabriken lades ner 1887 men 1892 anlades en ny fabrik av Ernst Kreuger och hans bror Fredrik i London under firma E & F Kreuger i Kalmar. Detta skulle bli inledningen till Kreugerepoken inom den svenska tändsticksindustrin..Under 1800-talet tillverkades vid fabrikerna i huvudsak svaveltändstickor för export. Genom att också fosfor ingick i tändsatsen var de lättantändliga och orsakade ofta små bränder inom fabriken. Stickornas isättning i ramar gjordes för hand och var hälsovådlig för arbetarna, varför de måste passera vakten till tvättrummet som såg till att alla tvättade händerna före måltid och vid arbetets slut. Fosforångorna var också mycket skadliga särkilt för personer med dåliga tänder.Frykman som ägde Rosendahlsfabriken, sålde den till A M Lindqvist från Mönsterås. Lindqvist utökade rörelsen avsevärt, men tillverkningen omfattade bara fosfortändstickor. Mönsterås Tidning skriver i en artikel 1882 att fabriken hade 120 anställda och att priserna låg under Jönköpings.
