Arthur Henri Poole - Rolls-Royce, but where? Ballyboggan, that's where!
Summary
We had some tentative information on this one, not all of which we could stand over in a court of law.....We believed these are Mr and Mrs Philip B. Pierce. This is their Rolls-Royce. The photo may have been taken on 5 June 1946 at Park House somewhere in the South East of Ireland. Park House had extensive grounds including the tower we can see, and perhaps a lake too.....Thanks to mogey and ccferrie for telling us that this is Park House, Ballyboggan in Wexford!..Date: Wednesday, 5 June 1946..NLI Ref.: P_WP_4526 ( P_WP_4526 )
Images from our photo collections that show those magnificent men (and women) in their flying, choo choo-ing, and driving machines... Oh, and we've cheated, we're adding boats and ships, jaunting cars and carriages, trams too and bicycles - we're completely shameless. So, basically any form of transport - air, sea, land - with the exception of two human feet...
