Summary

Public domain photograph of 20th-century painting, free to use, no copyright restrictions image - Picryl description

In 1897, he studied at the Prague Academy. At the end of 1918, when the Slovenes joined the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs (which became Yugoslavia), Vavpotič designed the Verigar-type postage stamp for a local issue in Ljubljana. The stamp depicts a Slav freeing himself from his chains against a background of the rising sun.
