Gårdsinteriör från Westmanska gården i Linköping. Det var härifrån den stora stadsbranden år 1700 startade, genom att en av gårdens drängar slarvat med en lykta. Efter branden avsågs Platensgatan att förlängas genom gården. Tomtens ägare lät emellertid i hast uppföra det putsade gatuhuset i bakgrunden, vilket omintetgjorde den planerade förlängning av gatan. Som en eftergift togs ett valv upp redan 1707 för fri passage till och från Stora torget. Valvet skymtar bortom den välta trålåren under skylten "Mjölhandel". Under 1800-talet kom gården i etapper gå över i familjen Westmans ägo, vilkas anförvanter skapade en mycket framgångsrik handelsgård. Byggnaderna revs 1907 för att ge plats för det så kallade Centralpalatset. Tiden för bilden är omkring förra sekelskiftet.

Storgatan sedd från Yttre borggården. Byggnaden närmast till höger är Skolmästaregården: I ett brev daterat 22 maj 1696 betraktas byggnaden som nybyggd. Den har en s k salsplan. Det branta valmade taket var ursprungligen klätt med spån. Skolmästaregården fungerade som skolmästarebostad 1696-1731. Vid sekelskiftet 1900 kom gården till mekanikern Karl August Petterssons (1872-1943) ägo som startade Östergötlands Velocipedfabrik i denna gård. Här grundades även idrottsföreningen BK Derby. Nr två från höger är Kopparslagaregården: Senast 1754 stod byggnaden färdig, då öppnades nämligen kryddkramhandel i gården. I mitten av 1750-talet lades gränden mellan Järntorget (Kryddbodtorget) och S:t Korsgatan (Rådmansgatan) ut över Lönnbergs tomt. Då blev gårdens portlider infart till gränden. Gathusets tredje våning byggdes på av handlare Pihl vid mitten av 1810-talet. Nr tre från höger är E G Beckers handelsbod: Byggnaden stod klar 1757. Byggherre var guldsmeden Samuel Presser (d 1783). Den är en typisk hantverkaregård från andra hälften av 1700-talet, med verkstaden i bottenvåningen och bostaden i ovanvåningen. Ingången vette mot gården. Portlidrets dörrar var låsbara. Affärsingången togs upp 1864 i samband med att handlaren E G Becker (1823-1906) öppnade butiken på Järntorget.

Christian Munthe (1818-92) var proprietær og landhandler. Han eide gården Moen, Kviteseid, Telemark.

Ett gulnat porträtt av Linköpings första fotograf, Frans Dyring. Från 1858 drev han fast fotoverksamhet i skomakare Hjeltes gård. År 1864 blev han ägare till den så kallade Borénska gården på Drottninggatan, där han redan tidigare hade inrättatr en ateljé i en liten paviljong i trädgården. Långt dessförinnan, redan på sitt trettonde år, hade han skrivits in i musikcorpsen vid Andra livgrenadjärregementet i Linköping. Där blev han hautboist och sedemera musikfanjunkare. Han var således en framstående musiker med flöjt som som sitt främsta instrument och verkade vid sidan av andra tjänster som musiklärare.

Porträtt av mamsell Charlotta Torling. Född i Linköping 1777 som dotter till knappmakaren och sedermera rådmannen Johan Torling och dennes maka Lovisa Ulrika Forsman. Familjen ägde en gård med verkstad på adressen Nygatan 34. Utöver familjen beboddes gården av gesäller, lärljungar och lärpojkar. Rörelsen tycks varit betydande, men avvecklades efter mästare Torlings död 1812. Efter att moder avlidit 1825 bodde Charlotta kvar med sin två år yngre syster Hedvig Eva. Båda var ogifta och skulle så förbli livet ut. Charlotta avled på gården i decembers sista dagar 1881. Hon hade då nått den imponerande åldern av 104 år, tio månader och nio dagar.

Porträtt av Sofia Nilsson. Hon var född på Bergsgården i Råberga strax öster om Linköping. Fadern var rättare på gården vilket rimligtvis tryggade hennes uppväxt. Andra tider skulle emellertid stunda. Rättaren insjuknade och blev sängliggandes. Snart var han och hans maka skrivna på socknen. Det kunde betyda lite av varje men aldrig till den noterades fördel. Sofia flyttade redan som flicka till Skärkind för pigtjänst på Eggeby östergård. Efter att ha prövat lyckan på gårdar i Gistad och Lillkyrka inflyttade hon till Linköping 1853. Från 1858 var hon piga i vaktmästareänkan Sandbergs hushåll och när dennes dotter Clara vidare bildade egen familj med handlaren Carl Jacob Jacobsson följde hon henne. Sofia blev hushållet trogen förbi sin matmors död 1914 och tjänade vidare dennes dotter Anna till sin egen bortgång 1928.flickebarnet Clara Jacobsson. Dotter till köpmannen i Linköping, Carl Jacob Jacobsson och dennes maka Clara Maria Sandberg.

Anders Jakobsen Rud. Født 19. september 1823 på Bolstad gård. Død 1916. Anders Jakobsen Rud var gift med Helene, født Smestad. Sammen hadde de 6 barn. 3 jenter og 3 gutter. I 1864 kjøpte han gården Rud i Veldre. Som de drev i ca 30 år, før de måtte selge den på grunn av dårlige tider. Gården er senere kommet tilbake i familiens eie, da deres eldste sønn, Jacob Rud kjøpte gården tilbake. For å drive gården og et landhandleri. Senere også Rud stasjon. Anders Jakobsen Rud jobbet også som maler / sjablongmaler.
