The second Otranto funeral at Kilchoman, Islay, Scotland. The services at the graveside. Nearest the camera, the Reverend Donald Grant, pastor of the parish church at Kilchoman. He sheltered several survivors in his own house, and two of them owe their lives to the wonderful care given them by Reverend Grant and his wife, who is a former trained nurse. One of the survivors died of pneumonia in Reverend Grant's house. In center, Capt. H.A. Aiken, U.S. Army chaplain of Auburn, N.Y. Beyond him, the Reverend H.G. Pegg, an Episcopal clergymen of Islay. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the congregation sang "God Save the King" and the "Star Spangled Banner". As a delicate compliment to the Americans, the place of honor was given to the Star Spangled Banner

He was wounded in both legs and the chest by a shell-burst. The King spent nearly fifteen minutes with him, discussing a very interesting fat-graft which is being accomplished on one of Lynch's legs.
