Andrew Tester (left), Suffolk County Council archaeologist, explains the value of the archaeological treasure found on Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, UK, to US Air Force (USAF) Colonel (COL) Richard T. Devereaux (second from left), Commander, 100th Air Refueling Wing (ARW). When a new softball field was planned, Mr. Tester and his colleagues were called in to survey an area first and they discovered the artifacts. This body was not only the only find that the archaeologists found, there were several other remains, pottery, and coins. The dates for most of the finds are believed to be from the early Roman age, 43 - 410 C.E. (Common Era)), but some items could fall into the Neolithic...

Airplanes - Flight - First photograph to be released of the first Liberty Motor to fly. Now that the censorship has been released this photo shows the first aeroplane to be equipped with a Liberty Motor in flight. The late Col. Roosevelt made a flight in this machine. It was on August 21, 1917 that this plane with a Liberty Motor climbed 7,000 feet in 10 minutes and reached its maximum altitude of 19,000 feet in forty-one minutes. The speed developed was faster than that of the Nieuport Scout, on eof the leading European planes at that time

American Red Cross - Soliciting Funds - Miscellaneous - A new addition was made to the White House live stock collection when Congressman Hardy of Texas brought "Colonel Jake", a prize turkey which brought $10,000 at a public auction for the Red Cross, to the President. Pres. Wilson reauctioned the bird and the money received was turned over to the Red Cross. Congressman Hardy has handed the turkey over to Mr. Hanlan of the Red Cross Society who is shown turning the bird over to Mr. McFarland of the local Red Cross Chapter
