The experts at Bruun Rasmussen wrote that this painting was exhibited at Charlottenborg in 1852, but they must have meant 1853, where no. 169 had the title Et Jagtselskab (A hunting party). The lot also contained a gun.

In the catalogie or on the website there is no explanation of the origin of the name of this painting. Problem is, that it is clearly not a corvette - they have three masts - but a brig.
