Summary
Howard Smith & Co's 2,216 GRT cargo steamship Age aground at Newcastle, NSW. (From description supplied with photograph.) E Withy & Co of Hartlepool, County Durham built her in 1888 for W Howard Smith & Sons. She was laid down as Melbourne but launched as Age. Cia. de Lota y Coronel of Valparaíso, Chile bought her in 1921 and renamed her Don Thompson. Cia. Minera e Industrial de Chile bought her in 1923 and sold her for scrap in 1933.
